A silly conversation in the car turned into a children's book and then a story library.

What started as a laugh in the car — throwing around baby names and imagining jungle adventures — quietly became something much more.

A story.
Then another.
And now, a growing world.

We’re David and Jo. Two creatives with a lifelong love of storytelling, design, and imagination.

But this didn’t start as a business.

It started with becoming parents.

Like many parents, we wanted stories that felt:

So we created our own for our son.

Cecil Spider & Monkey Pete were born from those early conversations — playful, curious, and full of personality.

As we developed them, something clicked.

Cecil became the thoughtful explorer. A sprinkle of Jo.
Pete became the joyful, energetic heart. A splash of Dave.

And before we knew it, a whole jungle world began to grow around them.

Every Cecil & Pete story is built around the small things that matter most:

Not in a heavy, “lesson-first” way, but through fun, adventure, and moments children actually connect with.

What began as rough sketches and ideas quickly became something we couldn’t stop building.

Character by character, story by story, the jungle came to life.

And it didn’t feel right to keep it to just books.

We wanted to create something families could use easily, every day.
