The Birds of the Jungle
“Hi everyone! I’m Courtney Cockatoo, your Kinder Garden narrator! Today we’re reading a fun story about Cecil & Pete and the Birds of the Jungle. You can choose how to listen. I can read the whole story aloud, or you can tap through each part and follow the words. Ready, my little explorers? Let’s begin!”

“Cecil,” said Pete, “the jungle is full of sounds today! I can hear birds everywhere!” Cecil smiled. “Then let’s go and explore!”
As the sky turned golden, they made their way back through the jungle. “Goodbye, friends!” called Pete.
caw caw!
HOOT HOOT!

Suddenly, a blue and yellow parrot swooped close by.
“I’m Peggy Parrot! She called
and I love to sing!”
Squawk-squawk she sang.
SQUARK!
They set off along the winding jungle path, following the sound of singing and squawking above.

HONK HONK!

Then, a colourful toucan flapped down from a tree.
“I’m Toucan Jim! I have a big, bright beak!”
He gave a happy caw-caw!

ee-ow!
Next, a blue peacock strutted into the clearing.
“I’m Rachel the Peacock! I love to show my feathers!”
She called ee-ow!
Nearby, a pink flamingo
stood by a pond. “Bonjour! I am Flamingo Fleur, and I simply love to stand on one leg!” Honk-honk she called!

Finally, a grey owl watched from a high branch.
“And I’m Mrs. Opal Owl! I love to sleep during the day!”
She gave a low hoot-hoot!
HOOT HOOT!
ee-ow!
caw caw!
HONK HONK!
SQUARK!

Cecil smiled. “There’s so many birds in the jungle today!” “And so many sounds!” Pete replied.
The end.
Morning sunlight danced across the Kindergarden.
Cecil Spider was spinning his web while Monkey Pete watched a butterfly flutter by.
All the birds flapped their wings and called out together:

Cecil smiled. “The birds make the jungle bright and loud.” Pete grinned. “And always full of songs!” They laughed together as they walked home through the trees, ready for the next jungle adventure.

"What a great story! I hope you enjoyed it! we learned all about the most colourful jungle birds. Oh and you can go back and tap on the animals to hear their sounds. Bye bye now. See you on the next adventure. Mwah!"
